The first Winter School took place in Pondicherry in 2014. It has since become a recognized model for training in social science research methods involving more than 300 students over six editions and several dozen academics and researchers from all geographical and disciplinary backgrounds. The Social Sciences Winter School in Pondicherry is returning in 2022 after a three-year hiatus.
SSWSP22 – Rethinking Inequalities
With more than 200 candidates and 49 participants, the sixth edition will gather participants around the issue of Inequalities. Inequalities have been an underlying theme for every previous edition, whether it be examining its causes, consequences, or ways to combat inequalities through mobilizations and public policies. By explicitly positioning inequalities as the central theme of SSWSP 2022, we aim to provide a time and space for participants to reflect on the different dimensions of inequalities in their research, and on how inequalities intersect and combine with each other, with far-reaching implications for citizens, the environment, and in public policy.
