Call for participants (Winter School 2024)
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Call for participants for the third edition of the Social Sciences Winter School in Karachi. To apply, visit our “How to apply?” section, download the call, carefully read it, complete the registration form, and submit all the required documents.
The third Social Sciences Winter School in Karachi is a collaborative effort between the Centre for South Asian and Himalayan Studies in Paris (CESAH, CNRS-EHESS) and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). Scheduled to be held at IBA City Campus in Karachi from November 4th to 8th, 2024, this event aims to explore societal dynamics through the use of image, film, and sound in the humanities and social science research.
Participants can choose one of the following three workshops:
- Workshop 1 – From studio to screen. Methodologies of writing social sciences with light
- Workshop 2 – Crafting the moving image: Documentary, anthropological, and ethnographic perspectives in Pakistan
- Workshop 3 – Sound in Urban Environments from a Social Sciences Perspective: Field Recording, Sonic Archives, and Sound Documentary
Please note that the deadline for submission of application is 29th of September, 2024. Participants will be selected by the steering committee and the workshop coordinators, with notifications of acceptance to be sent by October 4th, 2024.
